NYSTAFUR

COMPOSITION

One vaginal capsule contains:

• • Nifuratel — 500 mg 
  • Nystatin — 200,000 IU. 

INDICATIONS FOR USE 

Combination therapy of vulvovaginal infections caused by microorganisms’ sensitive to the drug, including bacteria, Trichomonas, Candida species, and Chlamydia. 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

The product is intended for local treatment of gynecological and sexually transmitted diseases.

Insert 1 vaginal capsule daily at bedtime for 8 days, or as directed by a physician.

If necessary, the course of treatment may be repeated after menstruation.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

Pharmacodynamics

Nistafur is an antimicrobial agent for local use. It possesses antiprotozoal, antifungal, and antibacterial activity.

Nifuratel is a nitrofuran derivative. It is highly active against a wide range of bacteria, fungi, and protozoa (including Trichomonas vaginalis). Extensive clinical experience has confirmed its safety and efficacy in the treatment of trichomoniasis, bacterial vaginosis, and candidiasis, especially in patients with mixed vaginal infections.

Nystatin is a polyene antifungal antibiotic. By binding to sterols in the fungal cell membrane, it alters membrane permeability, leading to cell death. It is highly active against Candida albicans. Due to its low toxicity and high selectivity, the product does not cause vaginal dysbiosis.

The combination of nifuratel and nystatin provides enhanced antifungal activity and significantly broadens the antimicrobial spectrum.

The high efficacy and low toxicity of the components allow for broad clinical use in the treatment of vaginitis of mixed etiology and for the prevention of mycoses associated with specific treatment of trichomoniasis.

Nistafur does not disrupt the physiological vaginal flora, thereby preventing dysbiosis and promoting rapid restoration of normal vaginal microbiota.

Pharmacokinetics

Following intravaginal administration, the product is practically not absorbed through the vaginal mucosa and does not exert systemic effects.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

·Hypersensitivity to any of the active substances or to any excipient of the product; 

·  pediatric age.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

In rare cases, allergic reactions such as skin rash or itching may occur.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

No clinically significant interactions between Nistafur and other medicinal products have been established.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

It is necessary to treat the sexual partner simultaneously due to the risk of reinfection. During treatment, sexual intercourse should be avoided.

Pregnancy and lactation

Use during pregnancy is possible if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or child.

Use during breastfeeding is possible, as the product does not pass into breast milk.

Paediatric use

Nistafur vaginal capsules are not used in children.

Effects on the ability to drive and use machines

The product does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery requiring concentration and psychomotor speed.
