COMPOSITION
10 ml of syrup contain:
Bromhexine hydrochloride — 8.0 mg
Terbutaline sulfate — 2.5 mg
Guaifenesin — 100 mg
INDICATIONS FOR USE
• Symptomatic treatment of cough accompanied by bronchospasm;
• As part of combination therapy of acute respiratory diseases (laryngitis, tracheobronchitis, obstructive bronchitis, bronchial asthma).
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION
Brovensin is taken orally 30 minutes after meals. The preparation may be diluted with water or fruit juice.
Brovensin is prescribed:

| Children 2–6 years: | 2.5 ml of syrup 3-4 times daily |
| Children 6–12 years: | 5 ml of syrup 3 times daily |
| Adults and children over 12 years: | 10 ml of syrup 3 times daily |
At the initial stage of treatment, the dose may be increased twofold.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Pharmacodynamics
Brovensin is a combined medicinal product with mucolytic, bronchodilator, and expectorant effects.
Bromhexine reduces sputum viscosity and facilitates its clearance. Terbutaline produces bronchodilation, reduces bronchial mucosal edema, and improves mucociliary clearance.
Guaifenesin promotes expectoration and enhances airway clearance.
Pharmacokinetics
The pharmacokinetic profile is determined by the combined action of its components.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
Hypersensitivity to the components of the medicinal product; cardiac arrhythmias; hepatic impairment; peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum; bleeding tendency; children before 2 years: first trimester of pregnancy; lactation period.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Nausea, vomiting, dyspepsia, diarrhea, palpitations, tachycardia, dizziness, headache, tremor, drowsiness. Very rarely, allergic reactions may occur.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Concomitant use with sympathomimetics and theophylline enhances the effect of terbutaline and increases the risk of adverse reactions.
Guaifenesin potentiates the effects of CNS depressants and ethanol.
Bromhexine enhances the penetration of antibiotics (amoxicillin, erythromycin, cephalexin, oxytetracycline) and sulfonamides into tissues.
Co-administration with cardiac glycosides, corticosteroids, bronchodilators, and diuretics is acceptable.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
Brovensin should not be co-administered with medicinal products containing codeine, as it may inhibit expectoration.
