PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Vamelan is a combined herbal medicinal product with a sedative effect. It contains three components — extracts of medicinal plants: valerian, peppermint, and lemon balm.
Valerian extract has sedative properties, reduces tension and irritability associated with mental fatigue and neurasthenia. In cases of insomnia, it helps restore normal sleep. It also has antispasmodic effects.
Peppermint extract exerts an antispasmodic effect on the smooth muscles of the gastrointestinal tract and also has choleretic and carminative properties; it is effective in mild insomnia.
Lemon balm extract, due to the presence of essential oils, has a characteristic pleasant aroma and taste. The essential oils of lemon balm relieve pain and spasms. Due to this property, lemon balm is widely used as an antispasmodic and analgesic agent in colic. Lemon balm essential oils also have a calming effect, improve appetite, which is often reduced in patients suffering from neurasthenia.
