PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES
Pharmacodynamics.
A combination product whose action is determined by its active components. It exhibits antibacterial, bactericidal, and antifungal activity. Neomycin and polymyxin B are active against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. Streptococcus spp. and anaerobic bacteria are not susceptible to these antibiotics. Nystatin exerts a fungicidal effect against fungi of the Candida genus. It improves trophic processes in the vaginal mucosa.
Pharmacokinetics.
The product is evenly distributed over the vaginal mucosa, providing local bactericidal and fungicidal effects. It is practically not absorbed through the vaginal mucosa.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- hypersensitivity to any component of the product;
- first trimester of pregnancy.
Use during pregnancy and lactation:
The product should be used during pregnancy only upon a physician’s recommendation when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus. Use during breastfeeding is contraindicated.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
Possible local reactions during use include:
- burning, itching, or vaginal irritation
- local discomfort
- allergic reactions (itching, redness, rash)
- rarely, contact dermatitis
In rare cases, more pronounced hypersensitivity reactions may occur.
DRUG INTERACTIONS
Due to the negligible systemic absorption of the product following intravaginal administration, clinically significant drug interactions are unlikely.
Concomitant use with other intravaginal products is not recommended without medical advice, as it may affect treatment efficacy.
SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS
The product is intended for intravaginal use only and should not be taken orally.
During treatment, good hygiene is recommended, and sexual intercourse should be avoided or barrier contraception used.
Treatment should be discontinued if signs of hypersensitivity or significant mucosal irritation occur.
Concomitant use with other vaginal preparations is not recommended without medical advice.
