COMPOSITION

Per capsule:

Dry extract of Hypericum perforatum flowers — 300 mg

Dry extract of Leonurus cardiaca herb — 100 mg

Dry extract of Paeonia lactiflora roots — 100 mg 

INDICATIONS FOR USE 

·asthenic syndrome; 

·depressive and anxiety disorders; 

·sleep disturbances; 

·neuroses (including those accompanied by tachycardia and cardialgia); 

·increased excitability, including in skin diseases, pain conditions, trauma, and burns (as part of combination therapy); 

·  early stage of arterial hypertension (as part of combination therapy). 

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION

Bodrin is taken orally, 1 capsule before bedtime, with an adequate amount of liquid.

PHARMACOLOGICAL PROPERTIES

The product has antidepressant and sedative effects, improves mood, enhances mental and physical performance, and normalizes sleep.

Its action is due to its components:

• • St. John’s wort extract — antidepressant, anxiolytic, and sedative effects; inhibits MAO and reuptake of neurotransmitters (serotonin, norepinephrine, dopamine), improves CNS function, and has antispasmodic activity. 
  • Motherwort extract — sedative effect by reducing CNS excitation; also has cardiotonic and diuretic properties. 
  • Peony root extract — stress-protective, anxiolytic, anticonvulsant, membrane-stabilizing, and antihypoxic effects.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

·hypersensitivity to the components of the medicinal product; 

·peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum, erosive gastritis in the acute phase; 

·pregnancy; 

·lactation period; 

·  children under 12 years of age.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

Gastrointestinal disorders: nausea, abdominal pain (including epigastric pain), dry mouth, flatulence, diarrhea or constipation.

Central nervous system: anxiety, fatigue, headache.

Hematologic disorders: iron deficiency anemia.

Allergic reactions: pruritus, skin rash, skin pigmentation, photosensitivity (more common in HIV-infected patients), increased sensitivity to animal hair.

DRUG INTERACTIONS

The drug enhances the effects of hypnotic, analgesic, and antispasmodic medicinal products.

SPECIAL PRECAUTIONS

During treatment (especially in fair-skinned patients), prolonged exposure to sunlight and use of tanning beds should be avoided.

Concomitant use with other photosensitizing agents is not recommended.

Co-administration with MAO inhibitors is not recommended.
